The Rutland Youth Council is a formal decision making and discussion group made up of young people from across Rutland. The main aim of the forum is to discuss issues that affect young people and take action on them.
The type of work includes peer consultation, delivering presentations at conferences, meeting with cabinet members, planning local campaigns. It may sound like work work work but there is also lots of fun too!
The council gets to go on a weekend residential once a year and has a rewards and incentives system for vouchers and trips for all the hard work they do! If you are really serious about getting involved in making a difference for young people, this is definitely the project for you. Elections do take place once a year but there are opportunities to joining at different points in the year, contact Karen for more information.
